SMS Program Policy

Who we are

Mada Community Centre is a Montreal nonprofit, powered by volunteers, that provides free, nutritious food and related supports to Montrealers in need. This policy covers text messages sent from our volunteer number, (438) 801-2554.

What we send

Texts are transactional only, tied to your own volunteering: booking confirmations, shift reminders, and notices when a shift you booked changes or is cancelled. We never send marketing or third-party content by text, and message frequency simply follows your bookings.

How you opt in

SMS is off by default. You opt in by actively selecting "SMS" under "How should we contact you?" — either while creating your volunteer account, or later on your profile page. The consent screen looks like this:

Message and data rates may apply. Consent to SMS is never a condition of volunteering — volunteers who choose email only are treated identically.

How you opt out

Reply STOP to any text to unsubscribe instantly, or HELP for help. You can also turn SMS off on your profile page at any time, or ask us and we'll do it for you.
